I love hearing from you. From the way I teach to the resources I offer, it is crucial for me that I am meeting your needs. Today, I want to explain some of the recent changes I have introduced to my services for GCSE and A Level students: First, GCSE: Recently, I released the new version of my Latin GCSE Revision Course, which includes not only a definitive platform to understand the grammar but also a guided section to learn the vocabulary and exercises to test your progress. I was soon contacted by Year 11 parents who had been waiting for the new course but were disappointed about paying for a 2-year access period. Not the reaction I was expecting! But they were right. I have therefore opened an option to buy 8-month access to the course. You get everything that is included in the 2-year program, but only for a limited time. And what about A-Level? To succeed at A-Level, you need to read KILOMETERS of Latin. This is in itself hard, but the lack of resources in accessible Latin only makes it more complicated, not to speak about getting students to find the time to do that reading! This is why I introduced unlimited access to Legentibus for all my higher-level students. Now, students get prompts on their phones and/or emails, and they have a treasury of texts that they can listen to on the go or translate with the integrated dictionary. The change has been huge! And this is all to say that if you have been hesitating about hitting that reply button and asking for something, you should go ahead and do it. I will get back to you, and perhaps you will give me an idea that turns into something truly remarkable! Before I say my "vale" and you send that "reply", here is my latest live video about common mistakes to avoid at GCSE (many of them also common at A-Level!). It was the first live in a while, and there were some issues with the camera, but the content is great, so I highly recommend you take note of the advice: |

The last couple of weeks have been very busy getting everyone set up for revision, but I wanted to make sure I share my thoughts about how to succeed at this hectic time. Revision is not something you just sit down and start doing: revision takes planning, commitment and a whole lot of paper!!! Here is why: Without a plan, stress and exhaustion will quickly kick in. Without commitment, it is impossible to reach your goals. If you rely on quizzes and highlighters, the knowledge is going to...
Exploring new tech with Joanne Kaminski at Bett Last week, I attended the Bett festival of technology in education, and I was astounded by the new immersive technologies — I will leave my thoughts on AI for another week, but watch this space! This got me thinking about connecting with Latin and the world of the Romans in our modern lives: it is easier than ever, and you do not even need sophisticated technology to get immersed. But how do you motivate a teenager to practise some Latin and...
"felicem nativitatem et annum novum faustum felicem tibi exopto!" ("I wish you a happy Christmas and a happy prosperous new year!") Christmas greetings from Torre del Breny I will keep this email short, as today is the first day of Christmas celebrations in Catalonia, where I am visiting family and friends: I just wanted to send a quick email to let you know how much your support means to me: working from an office on my own could be a lonely job, but having dedicated and happy students, and...
