Not sure what language your child should pick?

salve Reader!

Parents often come to me with questions about the best language GCSE for their child:

  • Is it enough to take just one language, modern or ancient?
  • What combination of languages works best?
  • Is it too difficult to get a 9 in any of the language GCSEs?
  • How does the language you choose affect your chances for a Russell Group university, or for a course in particular?
  • And what happens if you do not take any languages at all?

Having celebrated outstanding GCSE results just a couple of days ago, something became clear after seeing the success of my students:

The best language for GCSE is the one where enjoyment will lead to exam success.

This year, I have teamed up with another language expert, Dita Moothialoo, to help you answer all these questions and also give you the latest information on exam boards.

If you want to navigate the system with clarity and give your child the best start, join us on Sunday, September 7th, at 7 pm.

This webinar is for you if:

  • You have a student who has not started GCSE yet
  • Your student is currently taking a language (modern or ancient) for GCSE
  • Your child wants to have freedom when it comes to choosing a university and a degree

Not sure if it is for you? Just reply to this email and let me know.

However, I am not going to leave without offering a few suggestions to help your student during this half-term. You might...

Procida

salve Reader! Before I delve into super-curricular activities and upcoming competitions, let me give you a bit of personal news: in two weeks I will be embarking on the trip of a lifetime! As you may have guessed from the lovely picture of Procida above, I am going to Italy to dive in Baiae and visit the underwater remains of what was once the playground of the Roman elite. I should get some quality time to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum and capture the pictures for the new e-book I am...
